I’ve had nothing but problems with Fry network miners. First, it took MONTHS for me to get a miner when they said it was just 3 weeks to ship. Second, when I did get it, followed instructions to get it up and running, but could never get it to run. Third, where ever they got the mini-computer from was never wiped, it was kiosk for some insurance company.

After several attempts to get it running, I just gave up. It’s sitting a shelf collecting dust now.

@sstrangee99+84cf156b I am really sorry to hear that, and I totally understand your frustration. That’s not the experience we want anyone to have.

Just to clarify, was this a mini PC miner (like a bandwidth, decibel, or satellite miner), or a node (Reward Decentralization Node, Storage Validator Node, etc.)? The process and options are a bit different depending on what you ordered.

If it was a miner:
We did run into serious supply chain issues last year, and some orders were delayed far longer than expected. That said, we’ve fully caught up on miner orders, and now they typically ship within a week, and no later than one month. The turnaround is way better now.

If it was a node:
We’re still working on catching up with older node orders, especially from early 2024. To make that right, we’ve launched a few support options:

  • Free BYOD license for anyone whose node has been delayed more than a year

  • The ability to start earning fNODE with your license now, even before the hardware arrives

  • Our Node Forgo/Return Program, which lets you skip or return the hardware entirely in exchange for:
     • A 50% off coupon for any future miner
     • An exclusive NFT that unlocks high-APR staking
     • Full hardware-tier rewards forever (you don’t get downgraded to BYOD rates)

As for the mini-PC issue, that should never have happened. If you still have the device, we can send you a clean OS image with setup instructions, or even swap it out if needed.

Let us know what you ordered, and we’ll help get things back on track :)

$FRY Indoor Satellite Miner

Ordered it Jan 4th, 2025. Got it finally around end of June, early July.

Thank you!

That Indoor Satellite Miner definitely falls under our mini PC miner category, so that helps.

Orders from that early 2025 window were part of the last backlog wave, and I’m really sorry it took that long to arrive. The early-year delays were frustrating for everyone, but the good news is we’ve fully caught up now on miner orders. All new miner orders are shipping within a month, and in many cases, they go out the same week they’re placed.

As for the condition of the device, what you experienced shouldn’t have happened. It should’ve been cleaned and ready for setup out of the box. If you still have it, we’d be more than happy to send you a clean OS image and full setup guide, or if you’d rather swap it out, we can help with that too.

You shouldn’t be left with a miner that just sits on a shelf. Let’s get it working, or get you set up with a BYOD option if that’s easier. Just let me know what works best for you, and we’ll take care of the rest :)

@iotanine_FryNetworks Hey Iotanine Can you help me? I got a BYOD license that I intended to use with my weather station but I never got an email after. Also, I ordered a satellite miner and it arrived damaged and I still haven’t heard anything back.

@2etgn1asx+6a1b4da0 I am really sorry you've had to deal with both these issues, let's get them fixed ASAP!

1️⃣ BYOD License – If you didn't receive the license email, please open a ticket in our Discord (under the #help-desk channel), and we'll resend it right away.

2️⃣ Damaged Satellite Miner – Thanks for including that photo, it clearly got damaged during shipping. Could you also include this issue in your Discord ticket? We'll quickly get you set up with a replacement :)

If you've already opened a Discord ticket, just let me know the ticket number here, and I'll have one of our mods follow up directly. Thanks for your patience and letting me know about these issues!

@iotanine_FryNetworks I’m trying to open a ticket about the BYOD license but I don’t have an order number or miner key. Thanks for the help.

Are they planning some kind of swap for these crappy tokens I’ve been mining?

Yep! There is a swap coming :)

Aug 1 – conversion dApp opens

  • Only FRY 1.0 that existed at snapshot block 44866969 (Dec 1, 2024), in a wallet, Cometa pool, verification pool, or Tinyman LP, can be swapped.

Swap choices

  • FRY 1.0 → FRY 2.0
    • Rate: 80 : 1
    • Vesting: 12 months (month 1 unlocks immediately)

  • FRY 1.0 → fNODE
    • Rate: 40 : 1
    • Vesting: 12 months (month 1 unlocks immediately)

After the swap goes live

  • Un-monetized miners will soon start earning FRY 1.0 + tFRY (per FIP-008).

  • Each tFRY converts 1 : 1 into your miner’s segment token (fVPN, fWX, etc.) once that network begins generating revenue.

Therefore, anything you mined or held prior to the snapshot is swappable, and anything you mine going forward will soon have a clear path into the new ecosystem per FIP-008

@iotanine_FryNetworks Can you explain the difference between Fry 2.0 and fNODE and which I should go with?

@PuNkYsHuNgRy Sure, think of FRY 2.0 as the ecosystem token and fNODE as the infrastructure-node-network token:

FRY 2.0 (ecosystem)
• Role: covers the entire Fry Network; used for verification staking, on-chain governance, fry.market fees, and fry.farm fees
• Swap rate on Aug 1: 80 FRY 1.0 → 1 FRY 2.0.
• Vesting: 12 months (first month unlocks immediately).
• Primary use: broad liquidity, staking, and future governance.
• Best for: anyone who wants exposure to all Fry segments or plans to stake/participate in governance.

fNODE (storage layer)
• Role: tied only to the decentralized infrastructure node network; value comes from the demand for this technology we are developing.
• Swap rate on Aug 1: 40 FRY 1.0 → 1 fNODE.
• Vesting: same 12-month schedule (first month unlocks immediately).
• Primary use: rewards and fees within the infrastructure node network.
• Best for: people running (or planning to run) infrastructure nodes, or anyone who wants direct exposure to that network’s revenue.

Which to pick?
• If you’re running an infrastructure node (or want direct exposure to that revenue), fNODE usually makes more sense.
• If you don’t have an infrastructure node and prefer an ecosystem-wide token for staking and governance, FRY 2.0 is the better fit.

Both tokens follow the same vesting plan, with month one available right after the swap

Have you ever launched a location hosting campaign to set up your miners at third parties? What kind of incentives did you offer?
