@james_4dsky I’d also like to second this concern. My Airsquitter is mounted 20M atop a high slope two story roof, 2600M from the nearest runway threshold, and about 3,000-3,500M from approx. airport center. It easily captures data from aircraft on the ground that have their transponder on. The screenshots I posted several days ago in this thread* are from that unit’s position.
I could relocate it to a one story building perhaps 1,000-1,500M from the approx. center of the airfield but it’d be a scant 4M above ground level and be obstructed by slightly sloping terrain and numerous structures.
It’d be worth considering allowing for a greater distance from an airport (or, say, nearest runway threshold) still be rewarded for proximity, perhaps with the aid of real-world performance data.
