How many sensors are they expecting

I’ve ordered my sensor for the project but wondered if there were any expectations on how many might eventually be deployed? In the future is there going to be a way to state your intentions to reserve a grid at the point of purchase? I’m only asking because the turnaround is 3-4 months and people need to base their earnings potential on what they hope might still be the case when the sensor arrives. I currently have no sensors near me but I don’t know if this just appears to be the case and won't be when it arrives. A lot of this I'm basing on my experience with helium where the IOT devices flooded my area to the point it was’t worth doing anymore. It was a similar situation where it took months to get the devices.
