Does the Helium Weather XM not update its data as often as the WiFi version and could that be why the WiFi version goes through more batteries?

Did anyone try to hardwire the WeatherXm station, i.e. to feed power into the unit and avoid the issue with batteries? I have a couple of D1 WB1200 units and have regular battery issues for some reason.

South Texas heat. Installed in late October only lasted 6-7 months before I got the low battery alarm. I kept operating for about a month. Runs on daylight and alert is only at night. I didn’t see any performance issues with low batteries at night. Switched to Duracell but I expected a much longer time life with solar power during the day. WS2001 helium. And Yes, it is high up and hard to get to even with the battery extender. I checked and all the batteries were completely depleted.

Wound up putting in a set of lithium AA after the first low battery notification at -30F and haven’t had an issue in 8 months.

Use Energizer Industrial batteries, their the best.

I Have My Weather xm station for about a year and only had to do one or two battery changes

I’ve got 4 Helium stations running for 2 years now. Never had to change the batteries.

I’m Helium and I get over a year out of batteries.

I put some energizer batteries in the wifi version, It’s been about 1.5 year without needing to change them yet. In Canada so it gets hot and cold.
