DIMO basically just killed off it’s user base with the sub fees. 10 bucks a month for data you can already get via the manufacture or odb2 device. Even using yield the cost of the sub is more than you make a month, even for fleets. I do not see this ending well..

I onboarded on February 2025. Right now, my monthly rewards is below the monthly subscription fee. We shall see how things play out before my two years end. Hopefully the market price for DIMO improves by then. Straight up, if my monthly rewards will be below the subscription fee or slightly above the subscription fee, I think I will decide to no longer participate.

Why on earth would I pay Dimo to sell my data

I'm torn.

I don't have a problem with an entity charging for services they provide. But the the start of the free access period should be when they start charging for a service generally. Like, this year.

Personally, I don't see enough value-add to justify paying $10/mo to run my AutoPi devices.

You mean Dimo can’t find any buyers for their data and have to start charging the device owners?

Saw this announcement when it first hit. Soooo disappointed as I have been in this since beta and this price just shows they aren’t utilizing the data they are gathering. Even though they said that’s what devs were supposed to do, they really fell short and should have had a better plan. Best project I been in for a long time. Price per vehicle is what is killing me.

I mean what the hell are they even charging for other than the LTE? Mine do absolutely nothing. Never works when I try to read codes. At least Soarchain has a nice HUD now with actual information.

I believe they are also reducing the MSRP price to 99$ and implementing the monthly fee instead. So instead of charging you upfront, they charge you over time.

I have 1 year 8 months on my LT1 with a two year 4000 DIMO stake. so I guess I will be paying for four months at least eventually.

As of today, my answer would be “No”. I’ve still got another 1.5ish years left for my 4 macaroons. When that time is up, I’ll probably exit the project, unless rewards and token price would offset the subscription price. Then I’d have to weigh the pros and cons.

There needs to be a maybe option. Will depend on token price, other partner involvement, etc.. If I had to say today with what they offer I would say no, but alas I have 1.5 years left :)

I’ll use mine till they start charging or sell them before that happens.
