I am in Florida as well and it gets hot. I think we hit 92 degrees this last weekend in my location.
Please let us know what they say. Being in the hot sun in addition to the electronics generating heat, I definetly can see heat being an issue. I am surprised there is not some sort of cooling fan.
I’m in south Texas. Very hot. When I first installed and heat around 100 Deg. F my temp was peaking at 70 to 75 Celsius. I didn’t notice performance Issues. I”m 95 to 100F daily. At night it cools down to 55-60C. During the day i’m now running 65-70C. At this moment it’s 67C and outside temp is 93F. I have steady natural airflow over the unit in this area. Hot and very sunny.
I read somewhere it was tested in a hot environment to withstand this heat and check operation. Natural heat sinks, wind. Maybe the base rod attachment is the main heat sink as it’s attached to a long metal rod that looks like it could dissipate heat. If so, that would be a good point to make in the manual.
