Wingbits has been great, particularly the WB200. I unfortunately the MGW310 I bought has a failed LNA and is earning next to nothing. I’m just keeping it online while I wait for the replacement from Helium or Hyfix. Also, if you do go with an MGW310, make sure you have 360 line of sight or stick with the WB200. If you have wingbits near a major airport, or even a little farther it has good range so will perform well even if you don’t have a complete 360 sight because it still manages to pick up higher aircraft on the 1090 frequency even if you are blocked by a building in one direction. MGW310 definitely make sure you have complete line of sight or you will not meet their performance limits to earn GEODNET, especially with their new litepaper that increased performance levels. And, for both, be very care with the antenna, not to bang it accidentally even slightly or as always mentioned handling the unit holding the antenna. Even though the outside fiberglass enclosure looks tough enough, the actual antenna inside is very delicate and not very well connected internally. I like what they are doing with the project and the Wingbits personnel have been responsive and continue to improve their GUI and keep you updated.

My MGW310 also failed in the first month. It’s been very frustrating waiting to hear when it’ll be replace but the project itself seems great. Unfortunately mine is on a pole 2 stories high and was not an easy project to complete especially since they want it to be sent back before they ship which means it’ll be an extra trip up several ladders to complete this. The dashboards and maps are fun to explore locally. I still think this project will be a success.
