Nubila earnings: new validator tool for anyone to earn + triple mining tokens with your station

Validator Participation

Earlier this week Nubila launched a validator tool, which you access through their website’s dashboard. Anyone can access the validator tool to earn, even if you do not have a Marco station or a node. The validator option is live for the next 90 days, although it’s not clear if they are stopping it entirely or modifying it after these first 90 days.

The validator tool supports both manual validation of other people’s stations and auto validation of your own station.

Manual Validation

If you do manual validation you are shown the weather stats from a station told the station’s country, and told the time the data was captured. You then choose either “data accurate” or “data inacurate” options.

I’m not sure what kind of spam protection/authentication they have for users; for example if you always answer incorrectly compared to the overall population do the ban you? Who knows.

However in the above example we can see a station reporting a UV index of 1 at ~9:47 AM local time and a temperature of ~27C when a Google search says it’s about 26C. So it seems accurate.

When you manually validate they force you to post on X using a template that’s already filled out with the weather info (which you can back out of and avoid posting).

You are allowed to do 20 manual validations per day. Rewards are 2 $B3TR tokens for the first 200 validations per day (no $B3TR rewards if you aren’t in these first 200 validations) and 350 sNUBI, their pre-TGE token.

They do only allow 2000 total validations per day, but as of now it doesn’t seem like it gets more than ~500 or so per day.

Auto Validation

If you have a station on their network you can sign up for auto-validation, which shares your data for people to manually verify. To participate you pay a one time fee of either 140 $B3TR or 100 $B3TR for 12 or 24 hour validations, respectively.

Then, depending on your 12 or 24 hour selection, you earn 2 $B3TR tokens for each time period. When I signed up I tried to do the 12 hour selection but it forced me into the 24 hour option and it doesn’t give the option to stop/change. Others in their Discord have reported similar, but some have been able to choose 12 hours. YMMV

Triple Mining

For those with Marcos and who aren’t aware, you have the option to triple mine 3 tokens

1. The native pre-TGE sNUBI token. You get a reward each day your station is online based on the total amount of online stations. Currently the rewards are about 3k sNUBI per day.

2. $IOTX: Nubila runs Goated campaigns on Galxe which require you to do various tasks, such as Discord participation, X interactions, etc. There are sometimes quests you can do that don’t require a station to get a Goated NFT, otherwise one of the quests is getting a Goated NFT for proving you purchased a Marco. Once you get the NFT you then stake it via the Galxe dashboard and then can participate in weekly epochs to split earnings with all participants. There were three, 1 week epochs in April, but none since then although Nubila team says more are coming. Duing those 3 epochs I was able to earn about 1000 $IOTX

3. $B3TR: via Nubila’s own dashboard you are able to claim an NFT for each station or node that you own, with the different nodes having different multipliers and additional multipliers for multiple NFTs. I have two Nubila stations so I got 2 NFTs and have a total 2.2x multiplier on $B3TR mining. You stake your NFTs to participate and each epoch is approximately 1 week. The amount of $B3TR available per epoch is based on Nubila’s ranking in VeBetter’s campaign, which is voted on by $VOT3 holders. The higher Nubila’s rank, the more $B3TR tokens the Nubila project earns from VeBetter and the more tokens that are available in that epoch’s pool. To date I’ve earned about 540 $B3TR.

It still remains to be seen how well Nubila will do, and what their native token will be worth after TGE, however it is nice that you can start to earn something before that happens; so far I’ve been able to earn about $70 over the last ~2 months, even before TGE.

Also some bonus info: Nubila is running a purchase campaign where if you buy a Marco station or a node with $B3TR tokens, via Nubila’s dashboard (sorry Moken), you will get 50% of the total price you paid rebated back to you, amortized over a year. They rebate you back the total amount of B3TR tokens you paid, so there is a risk on how the token value changes over the year.

The previous promo was actually a 100% rebate, which is why I picked up a second station. So far I’ve received two monthly rebate payments, so it does seem they are keeping the commitments, so far.

Of the 3 weather projects it actually seems like Nubila is already earning more than WXM, even without their own token’s TGE, and SkyX is currently preTGE.
