Also, did something happen for rewards to drop recently?
For the last few months I've been getting 150+ a day and in the top 400. Now for the last 5 days I've been getting 6, and in 4000th spot.

@avoidbit Nice! I’m curious—how exactly do you earn rewards?
Do you need to be the only one in the hex?
Do neighboring hexes with miners affect your rewards?
Do you need clear line of sight?
@avoidbit You may have the LNA problem. check your graph 1090 and look at the tar1090 for what the current range is. If you’ve got the problem you’ll see a sudden dropoff in aircraft tracked. It’s a known antenna amplifier problem/sudden failure. You will need to through the company you purchased your antenna from. But first open a ticket with wingbits. Just click on the AI ballon in the lower right corner of your miner page and ask about loss of aircraft tracking. They open a ticket and ask you for the tar1090 and graphs1090 data. Then If that’s the issue they’ll refer you to who you bought it from with the wingbits ticket number. They open a ticket and confirm with hyfix to get you a replacement. It takes some time. It’s not overnight but will get repaired/replaced.
@CoinChaser Yes, only one antenna per hex. That does not apply to GEODNET, but GEOD token distribution drops in the same hex. If your the first in a hex with consistent uptime after 30 days you can get an exclusive NFT that gives you primary earning in the hex. Anyone else subsequently would have to share rewards.
The clearer the line of sight the better your antenna receives ADS-B signals. If your near an airport or major aircraft line of flight rewards can be greater. Hills, trees and buildings will limit your signal in that direction. You have to get the antenna above those objects within 5 to 10 degrees of horizon. I”m blocked to the north by just 5 feet and I can’t get higher. South is open sky. My range of detected aircraft is 200-250 nm to the south but only 150 nm to the north past the obstacle. I calculate a loss of about 20 wings tokens per day.
Rewards are by the number of messages you receive per aircraft in range and uptime and online status. I don’t have the exact formula. If the antenna has ground obstacles you will still receive aircraft data above you but may be limited to a 50 to 150nm range. Rewards may be cut in half.
Right now the token is on devnet. You get daily payouts per day. They are building up. You can also send them to your wallet but the wallet has to support test and devnet tokens. If you also have the antenna with geodnet, you receive GEOD tokens daily. That is a simpler system. Same antenna if you get the MGW310. Those tokens can be automatically transferred into a wallet that you can then cash out or move or convert.
GEOD tokens are also awarded based on antenna height and stability. Not moving or shaking. It can affect rewards. This antenna receives and confirms satellite location data which can be used for future projects such as drones or critical accurate location data. If it can’t see at least 28 satellites that can reduce earnings. 10 degree above horizon. In the USA the satellites regularly orbit in a pattern that reduces that number of satellites in the sky for brief moments reducing earnings. Its one token every 2 hours now. But any loss of signal will cause reduction. Like during an hour when the satellites drop off even with a good antenna most GEODS in the area will get the same hit and that will be 0.99 down to 0.95 tokens or less in that 2 hour period.
@avoidbit sounds like your unit is broken. I had the same issue you’ll have to get it replaced by messaging Hyfix
Can someone explain how Wingbits rewards work?
I’m trying to get a clear understanding of the reward system—how tokens are earned, what factors affect payouts, and how claiming works. If anyone can break it down in simple terms, that would be super helpful.
Thanks!
Long story short, the better your install the more hexes your signal reaches; rewards are based on how many hexes you cover and the amount of aircraft you can ping. So even if you have a great install that covers 1000km, if you install in an area where there are no flight paths then you basically get very little rewards.
They haven’t shared the exact calculation formula that I’ve seen.
