I have been mining HONEY tokens for over a year but than suddenly it stopped. My camera is still working because I can see the images inside the hivemapper app. The problem is that although I can connect with the device the device isn’t able to upload the images from my Solana seeker, so the images are stuck on it. Any advice on how to fix this?
Hivemapper discontinued support/earnings for the HDC and HDC-S in Feb. The only option to earn now is to get a Bee device.
They do have a trade-in program where you send in your old camera, buy a new Bee at full price, and then get a 30k honey airdrop after you map 1000km with it. However due to the ~$500 camera price and low value of the token I don’t recommend it.
If you do want to get a Bee, and you drive a lot, there are 3 options.
If you are in a high demand area Hivemapper might send you one for free. Fill out the form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdXv57n9poPeGm3ChUWsnWpxWoYUe6emTUNTtMO6tXBdDoy1g/viewform
If you are in the US you can get a Bee+Helium plan from Hivemapper with a 2 year contract for $19/month, or just the Bee for $10/month. Be sure you drive enough to actually earn more than that per month.
Buy a new or used one on eBay. I’ve bought them for ~$150 each including the 4k honey bonus that they come with, and that was a few months ago. I haven’t looked but they are probably cheaper now.
