The Fry Networks community has officially passed FIP-016 with 100% approval.
FIP-016 approves the creation of the Fry Edge Miner, also known as FEM, which will become the new unified miner model for Fry Networks.
The following miner types will be merged into the Fry Edge Miner model:
RDN
SDN
SVN
AEM
Bandwidth Miner / BM
Merged miner owners will receive 1 Fry Edge Miner key per eligible merged miner/device/key.
This means users with multiple merged miners are not being reduced down to one miner. A user with five eligible merged miners will transition to five Fry Edge Miner keys.
All Fry Edge Miner keys will use the FEM- prefix.
The new Fry Edge Miner software will also be replacing FryHub and is expected to be available before this weekend, CDT.
FIP-016 also approves the deprecation of IDM, IRM, ISM, ODM, OSM, and non-FryHub IoT miners from future Fry rewards once implementation is complete.
Already-earned tFRY from deprecated miners will remain valid.
The conversion of tFRY into a monetized token will happen after FIP-017.
FIP-017 will explore returning to a single new Fry token with a combined supply based on fNODE, fVPN, and tFRY, since we cannot mint more of the current Fry token.
FIP-017 will handle the details of that process, and the community will decide what they want and what they do not want.
FIP-016 also approves:
VM and VPS support for Fry Edge Miner software
No per-location cap for Fry Edge Miners
No artificial limit on newly purchased Fry Edge Miner keys
Preservation of existing segment tokens
OG Discord role perks for eligible early supporters
Exploration of third-party integrations or sale opportunities for deprecated miner networks
tFRY conversion planning being handled after FIP-017
No action is required from users yet. More setup and transition guidance will be released as implementation progresses.
Thank you to the Fry Networks community for the strong support.
FIP-016 is about focus, simplification, and building a stronger Fry Networks for the future.
