@Monk112 is yours the wifi indoor or outdoor hotspot ? If it's outdoor I am not sure I never had the chance to explore an outdoor one but from what I understand the outdoor one u can chang antennas like u can on the ioT minors but the indoor ones unfortunately again as far as I know you can't change it it's on the bottom of the hotspot the metal back faces out tword the area you wanna cover the antennas is right behind it never lay out hot spot directly down with the bottom facing down it will kill the signal it must be on its side with the back facing tword the area you wanna cover usually they come with an virtual mounding stand that keeps it up on its side for you , here I'll try and post an reply again to this with a pic of how I have mine setup for an example

@wolcottdanny so u see here I have the mobile hotspot in the window facing out then I got the bob cat on the window cill and the mesh pod and the antenna for the bobcat is on the window on the inside tho even tho it's an outside 5.8 dbi I can't mount outside so I mounted it with a command strip on the window inside , I was going to ask on here if that is harming my rewards and if I should hook the 4.0 dbi that came with the bobcat inside antennas back up instead of the way it is now or if this is alright enough?

@wolcottdanny Apart from the Bobcat antenna question, the Antenna built into the Helium indoor hotspot is Horizontal or Vertical Polarization. in the current configuration, you will be proving more signal vertically not horizontally. If you goal is to get most users inside of your business, this would be the right move.

@wolcottdanny dont have one yet, just thinking about it. this is the view from my roof. do you think this would be good traffic?

@Monk112 I’d say you could reach the section of the building across the road. And if you had an Outdoor unit, that could even provide good coverage.

@PacketThrower it’s in my apartment building up on the 9 th floor of 12, the strip I live on has over 12 different restaurants bars stores it’s very busy downtown Buffalo popular area, I have considered an outdoor hotspot in the future right out my window if I can finagle an mounting system but that’s later down the road …

@PacketThrower how long does it take for that to happen for carriers to start to offload using my hotspot and what are things they look for that they like that gets me qualified easy and what are things that make it less of a chance that I’d get selected for career offload? I wanna make sure I tweak everThing to make it the best I can .

@wolcottdanny  blog post provided by Nova/Helium on Medium.com explains the benefits of Carrier offload and that having the hotspot located in a high traffic area provides a better chance to be chosen for carrier offload.  For me, I waited about 7 months before my hotspot was chosen to offload AT&T and T-Mobile which are heavy hitters by me. I'm in a small town so my high traffic could be under 100 people.  Your consistent amount of people with diverse cell phone providers will help your probability of getting carrier offload.

If you monitor your hotspot on world.helium.com you can see how many users and data throughput is pumping through your unit.  Another item is ensuring these sections in your Helium Builder app are all green. It helps with verifying your rewards and validity.
