@PacketThrower something to keep in mind is that PoC rewards are halved every two years (last halving was Aug. 1,2025). This is at least partly why most of us lean towards the commission model.
If this hotspot is not picking up much data traffic, PoC will not be very good either since hexes are assigned values based on footfall. As builders it's better to focus on areas and setups that will provide the most real world value. The algorithms will catch up eventually.

I personally offer a percentage and it has worked for all my deployments. I ask them, “When people use your wifi do you get compensated?” (Of course not) Its not about using more of there internet, its about them getting compensated for the use. If there is a possibility of their bandwidth taking a hard hit and affecting them, I have offered to renegotiate the percentage to accommodate a possible bandwidth upgrade. In other words, i will give them more of the rewards so they can use it to pay for an upgraded service. I literally just did that today and they said sounds exceptional. If the location you have picked is sucking down their bandwidth that hard the compensation will be well worth their while. My 2 cents
I feel like if it’s not a % of what you earn you might be screwed if the coin price drops and if it’s cash on deployment then the host doesn’t have an incentive to keep it up! I would offer anywhere from 30% to 50% of the earnings.
@DepinMasterMind I like this concept, but logics becomes an issue if you're needing to track earnings for xx amount of parties and sending royalty checks every month.
I wish Helium offered split rewards. There would be a few who would be favorable to opening a helium wallet.

@DepinMasterMind don't pay them in HNT, give them USDC. I transfer all my coins to the Helium wallet, convert, and send. Pretty simple and avoids exchanges. This way price fluctuations don't affect your payment. Hope this helps
How do the rest of you promote installing a HELIUM Mobile Hotspot at a business (or a friend)?
Most places already offer Wi-Fi to their customers and are reluctant to add another drain on their bandwidth without compensation.
What's your strategy? Explain your answer.

I have a question on this actually. I only have one indoor hotspot at a business I personally have network access to. A testing ground you could say. In my rural area, it has yet to grab onto prime carriers in the area, thus I don’t get much for Data kickback. How are you battling with situations where the client could be in a small area, and guarantee high commission rates if their hotspot never gathers data, and only PoC?
Are you also integrating the solution into their existing setup if it supports it?
