@Bigred it can get toasty. There is a power save button on the camera stream UI when you start mapping that turns off the camera preview and dims the screen, to save power and keep temperatures more manageable.

Rovr is the second most profitable project on my roster of about 7-8 do far. You just have to keep up on using the unit.
I've found that using my iPhone 11 works better than using my Android.
See others’ messages about the calculation, which are correct.
However average points per km are actually around 0.75-1.0 now, depending on freshness and how recently someone else (or you) drove that same road in the last week.
You are making calculations with very wrong information -
There is no ‘coins’ and ‘rovr tokens’. There is only $ROVR. This is what you get paid for contributing.
$ROVR is currently $.009 a piece, you can find the official coin Here
There is no membership for RTK and if you are paying for one you are being scammed. RTK Connection is free, you only have to cover LTE/hotspot for your phone.
Refer to JD’s post for an example using these proper metrics.
If you are properly looking at joining this project, I’d suggest joining the ROVR Discord by clicking This. There are a plethora of contributors in there like myself who would be happy to share rewards metrics and methods of running the TX.
Tarantula X is 1.6 tokens per KM like you mentioned (first year)
https://rovr-network.gitbook.io/rovr-docs/rovr-tokenomics/rovr-tokenomics
If you drive 200km per day that’s 320 tokens per day. (Assuming perfect no overlap)
(Assuming perfect no overlap), so 320x30 for a whole month is the 9,600 tokens
Rovr token is currently 0.009 x 9600 = 86.4$ per month
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/rovr-network/
I also never had to pay the RTK fee you mention
In the second year April 26, 2026 it halves to .8 rovr per KM
Well according to the project ROI table it has one of the highest ROI based on what people are actually earning: https://moken.io/projects/profitability-estimates
@CoinChaser the number on the website isn’t super accurate since the depin tracker doesn’t let us choose between the $150 TX or the $2500 LC. So the ROI calculation is assuming a TX, because that’s what Helium Deploy sells, but people add their LCs that are earning ~13 points per km.
Also some people use a single email login with multiple devices, which further skew the nubmers.
Not much we can do about 1 email account for multi devices, but the depin tracker should let us select TX or LC when we add the miner so the ROI can be a little more accurate.
(Rovr is launching its fleet system in September, hopefully there is a change on the API and there is a way an individual miner can be referenced, even if they share the same login account)
How is it possible to make any money with the Rovr Tarantula X?
Hi guys, according to my calculations of you needing 26 coins to making one Rovr token and a token only being worth about 8 cents and the tarantula paying out 1.6 coins per km . Driving an average of 200 km a day for a month is 9,600 coins which comes to 369 tokens. Now at 8 cents a token the most you will receive is $29.52 (369 x.08) so am I missing something? Minus the RTK membership -$40.00 and the full use of your phone, so where is the profit?
Thank you!
I must have really received some bad information and I thank you very much for all your help and support! I had deactivated the unit but will give it another try!
B y way does anyone have problems with their phone overheating to the point of you having to shutdown down?
