@Xrave Same, it’s hard to partner with local business sometimes but working with residence is easy - we can use outdoor device to benefit surrounding cafes/restaurants

@Xrave With Tmobile out, I'm thinking Xnet is the better choice. Longer range and better reward pay out. Just my 2 cents
This HRP has not finalized but according to the information in there right now:
https://github.com/helium/helium-release-proposals/blob/main/releases/20250909-core-devs.md
Outdoor wifi hotspots are going to see about a 22% reduction in coverage points and POC rewards will shift more towards indoor wifi hotspots.
THIS WILL AFFECT POC REWARDS, NOT DATA TRANSFER
The current coverage points system is (outdoor units)
High hex: 16 pts increasing to 120
Med hex: 8 points increasing to 60
Low hex: 4 points going to zero
You are probably wondering why I said nerf.
They are also changing the amount of hexes that come from the templated coverage too.
Currently fixed hexes is
High : 4 staying at 4
Med: 45 lowering to 15
Low: 334 going to zero
In total the old coverage points was
16 x 4 = 64
8 x 45 = 360
4 x 334 =1336
Total: 1,760 coverage points
The new system is:
120 x 4 =480
60 x 15 = 900
Total: 1,380
I made a photo, the red is the new coverage vs the old purple/green/red
It looks more than 22% visually but that’s because the nuked the low hexes(purple). It’s really about 22%.
One benefit from this is you are less likely to overlap coverage if you are deploying outdoor wifis.
HRP is not finalize yet so this information is subject to change, but just shows the thoughts going on.
Voted yes, because I wouldn’t be deploying for only POC rewards. The high gain directional antenna on the outdoor unit makes it ideal for specific venues.
