@Josephsims49 the halvings are published dates, reading the project documents would inform you when these occur. Always DYOR. That being said Geodnet is still one of my most bullish projects and I take the opportunity to deploy dual Geodnet and Wingbit stations when I can due to the combo savings.

As for spoofing it shouldn’t be possible due to how RTK works. However keep in mind Geodnet anonymizes locations by up to 1km from the real position. Your own miner will show the real location when you are logged into your account.

@Josephsims49 it might just be me, but no matter what anyone tells me about how much I could make I will always go figure out the earnings myself. Geodnet is probably the easiest project to calculate earnings. If someone told you it was making $250/mo it would have been easy to confirm the calculations using 24 or 12 tokens per day, depending on when exactly this discussion took place, at whatever price assumption you wanted to make.

Things that sound too good to be true likely are. That being said I have high expectations for the good token as we are about to go deflationary. Keep those stations running and wait for the token price pump ;)

@Xrave Making $250 per month from a crypto miner is not “too good to be true” when a person has already done it multiple times 🙄 Not every machine will do that. We are in a down cycle because the bull run is over… Accumulation and staking of tokens or point for future investments. Most results are atypical and some may never see a decent ROI because its a game of chance with a lot of em.

Any monkey 🐒 🙈 🙊 👀 can see I make xx tokens per D/W/Y that are worth whatever the current value of that token is at that time. Markets can be volatile. Moken offers this great estimate tool too! And white papers and youtube videos from the larger youtube channels all saying the same things.

And JD talking about how to set them up troubleshooting. Emilo or Marcus running the live Skype calls… Yea dude I've been around since Bobcat300s… Im not just some noob at this…

@Josephsims49 Not at all like a car. It’s dead simple to figure earnings. If you had even done 5 minutes of research, you’d have known what real earnings are. Now you’re just covering up your mistake by being pissy at other people instead of owning up to your mistake.

@Josephsims49 comparing to purchasing a car and MPG is an interesting analogy. The miles per gallon is the cost to operate it, which is how much power and bandwidth the Wingbits/Geodnet stations would consume. The car dealership wouldn’t tell you how much you could make driving for Uber because they don’t know your driving method/hustle (ie, Geodnet doesn’t know where you will install the station or how well you will install it).

Not only that, but this is crypto…should take any info shared by anyone for a depin project with a grain of salt, even if it’s coming from the actual team: they are incentivized to make it sound good for you to buy. We have all been in crypto for a while and we know there are no regulations, no guarantees, and always rug pulls.

Anyhoo, I watched Andy’s video and it’s a little laughable. The video was shared 11 months ago (I don’t have the specific date), but he says Geodnet will make $6.6/day, which at 24 tokens/day before this last halving implies a token value of $0.275, which was the approximate price at that time ($198/month). At that time anyone with a proper install and >80% RRR as first-in-hex would earn this on the Geodnet network.

BUT for Wingbits he does talk about how it’s highly variable where you install, proximity to airports, etc, and assumes a 100 $wings/day estimate. Ok fine, but the laughable part is he says “now let’s assume this pre-TGE project has a FDV about the same as Dimo (a driving project, totally unrelated), so therefore the token price is going to be $0.016, and therefore your station will earn $250/month.”

I mean…come on, this is where people need to do their research. Even if you did assume that $wings earning was correct, the project hasn’t even had their TGE so the token value today is 0…so how would you take the $250/day earnings that are shown in that video as what the station could earn today? Additionally I don’t know if Andy’s video is the one you were talking about, but he’s an influencer. He doesn’t work for Geodnet, Wingbits, or Hyfix. In the car analogy he isn’t part of the dealership’s sales team. He’s the guy standing on the side of the road waving the sign saying, “you should go buy that car and tell them Andy sent you in.”

If you are told something from a business and you are talked into buying something based on certain selling points then that business needs to honor that period. I think it is important to call out a few things. Youtubers generate revenue by views, commissions, and marketing campaigns. Retailers make money by selling devices, not by acting as your financial analyst. Sometimes, even the project itself is making money off device sales. No matter the situation, it is always your responsibility to look out for your own best interests because almost no one else is. This is an odd thread though and Community Guidelines are not being followed.
