Solid update. Loving the cross-chain talk and fry.market
This month's AMA marked a clear shift in Fry Networks' trajectory: faster shipping, broader accessibility, and stronger rewards. Whether you caught the live session or need the fast version, here's everything you need to know in under 3 minutes. π
Fry's core development structure is evolving for scale and speed.
π οΈ Lead developer Marko is stepping down July 1. In his place, two long-time moderators (AtorMonkey & Dude350z) have stepped into active core dev roles. Also, long-time moderators MrSir and CryptoSoljah have been promoted to our core team in non-dev roles.
Additionally, Fry is currently vetting two senior developers from Octaloop as potential replacements to take on the lead dev workload going forward.
This structure gives the team more firepower to ship updates quickly, reduce friction, and open the door for more cross-functional execution across dApps and smart contracts.
After final QA tweaks, Fry.Market β the Fry Networks NFT marketplace β is ready to roll. A private Discord beta will launch this month, offering fee rebate rewards to early users.
The marketplace will support Fry ecosystem collectibles, all Algorand NFTs, and pave the way for future NFT-gated staking utilities coming in Q4.
The team confirmed that dVPN monetization and BYOD bandwidth miner rewards are on track for Q3 2025.
A standalone Fry VPN client is nearly complete, and once live, miners will be able to claim rewards in fVPN, a dedicated segment token for our node infrastructure.
The Fry 1.0 β Fry 2.0 conversion DApp is nearly complete and is planned to launch next week with a 6-month or 12-month linear vesting schedule to maintain market balance and avoid volatility.
Meanwhile, dual mining rewards are now official:
Miners on unmonetized networks will soon earn tFRY + Fry 1.0 simultaneously.
Once monetization begins, tFRY can be swapped 1:1 for the appropriate segment token (e.g., fVPN).
This dual-reward structure was determined by the community through FIP-008, ensuring that all miners continue to earn while new revenue streams are introduced.
To provide more flexibility to node participants, Fry has launched a Forgo Program open to all node runners, regardless of whether they are early or late.
If you'd rather run Fry node software on your own hardware, you can return your official node and receive a 50% store credit plus access to a high-APR staking pool via a special NFT.
Importantly, nodes that opt into this program will retain full hardware-level rewards β they will not be reclassified as BYOD devices. This ensures you're still recognized as a full node operator, even if you choose to free up physical space and run things your way.
The PoC4All backend rollout is nearly finished. This update addresses a bug that caused some miners to continue receiving rewards despite being offline or not sending data.
Once complete, this patch ensures that all rewards are tied to real-world uptime and verified connectivity, reinforcing Fry's core value: proof of real-world activity.
New proposals are being explored to increase fNODE utility and influence within the ecosystem:
Temporary reward multipliers
Running AI tools directly from node hardware
Granting nodes the ability to vote on node-specific FIPs
These upgrades will make nodes more valuable and participatory across the DAO and data layers.
Fry is preparing for a strategic cross-chain expansion to enable rewards, claims, and ecosystem dApps on a more DePIN-aligned EVM-compatible chain.
Users who opt to receive rewards on this chain will get a temporary boost.
Algorand will remain supported, but Fry's forward focus will shift to the new chain to take advantage of better tooling and a more suitable ecosystem fit.
This move opens up broader accessibility for miners, developers, and data buyers β while preserving core Fry functionality across chains.
Talks continue with a leading AI-agent marketplace (already used by several major DePIN projects) to license sensor data.
So far, over 315 individuals and organizations are on the waitlist to purchase Fry miner data β a strong signal that Fry is building toward real-world utility at scale.
Fry Networks is now officially listed on NestEx, effective as of June 30, which provides the FRY token with increased accessibility and visibility. Additional CEX negotiations are ongoing following the XeggeX shutdown.
π Fry 2.0 Conversion DApp is planned to launch sometime next week
π° tFRY + Fry 1.0 dual rewards now active (per FIP-008)
𧱠Fry.Market beta launches this month
π» dVPN monetization & fVPN rewards are planned to arrive in Q3
π fry.farm is still being developed and we are aiming for a Q3/Q4 launch
π Next AMA: Friday, July 25 at 6:30 PM CDT
July marks the beginning of Fry's next chapter:
β
A more agile dev team
β
