More info needed on GEODNET earnings error hits to rolling rewards

Is there a more precise way to determine errors in the receiving data? I understand when there is network connection downtime and lack of satellites in view, but does GEODNET have tools to narrow down if its anything other than online time and satellite views?

I see MP12 and MP21 numbers and I don’t see any correlation between those numbers and drop in rewards. Maybe if the data could be more detailed on the number of satellites seen when the rolling rewards rate drops. Is there a place where there is more of this data?

MP12 and MP22 are multipath performance scores (lower is better). If either one is 0.75 or higher then it zeros out your rewards.

After GIP6 the following things will result in getting no rewards

RRR <80%
MP12 or MP21 >0.75
Dual band stations

You can see each of these performance items in your console when you look at the station details.

I have been having a similar issue, with no luck.

I had an MGW200 up and it was working great getting 98% RRR. Replaced it with a MGW 310 and now my RRR is 82%. Rewards are down ~40%.

I know it is an issue with the MGW310 as it is installed in exactly the same place as the MGW200 was. I have contacted GEODNET support and so far they want pictures of the install. Problem is it is a remote install 45 miles away.

I tried to get them to pull the data from the MGW200 and compare it to the MGW310 and it seemed i was speaking a foreign language. like how dare they use the data they already have to prove a product of theirs is defective.

once i get a picture of the install i will continue with them, but not very happy with the customer service so far. The MGW310 is brand new and not working properly out of the box. Ugh

@KaptainBlaZzed I haven’t heard of anything specific regarding the Geodnet performance of the MGW310. Getting a picture would help.

On the Geodnet console is your blue online line always at 100%?

@Xrave yes it is always blue. has been up for over 2 weeks now and same bad graph.

it is doing good at wingbits, just the geodnet side of the device is defective.

Got pictures of the surrounding area of the station from all 4 sides?

@Xrave Yes, exact same location. i unscrewed the mgw200 from the all thread and screwed on the mgw310.

I don’t have pics yet. it is installed on the side of a 1 story house using 3ft all thread. The unit sticks up above the peak of the house. There is 1 tree partially blocking the south west view of the sky, but otherwise no obstructions.

@KaptainBlaZzed I haven’t seen any reported issues like this but it will be hard to judge if there is a tree in the field of view, even if the older station didn’t have an issue

@Xrave Please elaborate how the tree is a problem, the MGW200 worked fine and the MGW310 is having issues. What does the tree matter? The MGW200 data proves a device should be 98% RRR in that exact location. Are you saying it is know that the MGW310 is not as good at GEODNET at the MGW200?

Sounds like an excuse for a defective product to me.

FYI, I am not the only one reporting this type of issue. There are 2 more on this exact thread and i have seen other threads where people have had similar issues.

From what i can tell, the MGW310 is a crap shoot, some work well and some do not. There has already been 1 recall due to static build up and now there is this new issue of poor GEODNET performance.

Also my MGW310 is only a few unit numbers outside the recalled batch.

i appreciate your comments, but am getting very frustrated that an $1100 product is not functioning properly and the only response i get is “Got a Picture” when actual data already exists to prove the product is defective. :(

@KaptainBlaZzed I haven’t seen the complaints, although that doesn’t mean there aren’t any.

My point is that if you contact Hyfix about the geodnet signal problems and they debug it with you, they will ask for picture of the install and if that tree is in the >10deg-from-horizon field of view then they will just say that is the problem.

It could be that the MGW310 Geodnet performance isn’t as good as the MGW200, but they are only guaranteeing it can meet the performance requirements if there are no signal obstructions.

I connected my two separate GeodNet and WingBits devices to HomeAssistant. The WingBits unit provides more analytical data over port 15160. Originally the OP and I thought it was the MGW310 device offering that service, but it is the WIngBits side of the house as my WB200 provides the same data.

Long story short, I have satellite data fed into HomeAssistant from WingBits, and simple pings to the GeodNet unit going. For now. I created a Walkthrough on getting data into HomeAssistant in that thread.
